On a bright and sunny June 5, St. Mark’s held a highly successful contactless drive-thru bake sale—requiring more planning than usual but a very worthwhile endeavor. A few weeks prior to the sale a list of baked goods was created (154 items). Then the week of the sale parishioners could place an order from the list by emailing or calling one point of contact. Everything pre-sold in three days. The day before the sale, bakers in the parish dropped off their pre-packaged wares. A small three-person team organized the goods into bundles. On the day of the sale, those who had placed pre-orders could drive up and their order was ready and delivered to their vehicles. Organizers had much fun and felt great to be doing something that they considered “normal” in an “abnormal” time. The proceeds from the sale will benefit the ministry of the parish ACW and Lunch by George. St. Mark's wishes to thank the organizing team, the support team, the bakers and customers.
