St. George’s Cathedral held a COVID-19 immunization clinic on Tuesday, June 1, for Lunch by George clients and volunteers. Community members received their vaccination at tables setup in the narthex area of the Cathedral while Interim Director of Music Brad Barbeau played the organ. Interim Dean David Seltzer had approached KFL&A Public Health and offered the Cathedral as a clinic location. “The church is in the business of keeping people well in body, mind and spirit. I think it is straight forward and simple and we are working at doing our part” says David. This is the first of a series of clinics hosted by Public Health for at-risk and vulnerable members of our community, with other clinics to be held at St. Vincent de Paul and Martha’s Table. Lunch by George clients will have an opportunity to receive their second dose when the clinic returns to the Cathedral in September.
