If you are like me, you’re probably feeling like someone pulled out the summer rug from underneath you. It is true that this summer was rife with its own challenges, and the sudden passing of my brother certainly turned my family’s life upside down. I want you to know that both Bishop Michael and I have felt so blessed and supported to have received your many messages of love and prayer. We are eternally grateful to be enfolded in the love and support of our Anglican family.
Alas, the PWRDF staff, executive and board have been busy keeping their eye on every corner in the world, and as always, there is so much need.
The government doubling fund for the Pakistan flood ends today up to $3M, but you can still contribute to the fund going forward. Federal government will match funds donated to Pakistan relief - The Primate's World Relief and Development Fund (pwrdf.org)
While we lament summer slipping by too quickly, we’re also jetting forward into Christmas planning and the new card selections are out! Please allow for 3-4 weeks for delivery and feel free to print and share the following poster: Choose one or both designs (8.5 × 11 in) (pwrdf.org).
Feel free to explore the wonderful array of annual resources that can be shipped to parishes free of charge: Annual Resources - The Primate's World Relief and Development Fund (pwrdf.org).
Some of you may know that I have been contracted by PWRDF on a part-time basis to develop relationships with parishes across the country. To that end, we have developed a survey to find out about how we can better support clergy, wardens, lay readers, PWRDF parish representatives in their knowledge of the incredible programming that PWRDF has to offer. I will be sending that survey out in the next few days to clergy and the PWRDF representative contacts that I have. I would love your help to ensure that we have one person from each parish providing us with that feedback. Feedback from the survey will help us know how we can better serve you, what resources you might find helpful, and where any gaps in service might be.
I am excited about the new roster of Sunday visits and presentations. I can visit your parish in person or on Zoom. Thank you to those parishes that have already booked, I can’t wait to come and see you!
Our next PWRDF meeting will be held on Oct. 25 at 7:00 PM. I will send out the Zoom link in a future email. You don’t need to be a PWRDF representative, lay reader, or clergy to attend. We welcome all PWRDF interested or curious parties.
