Reserve the date for our next monthly meeting on Tuesday April 26 at 7:00PM. You don’t need to be a parish representative, or know anything about PWRDF – we are there to welcome you and learn together. Warning: you will learn something about fundraising so be aware, you might be more in demand in your parish than you have time for! https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81438423590?pwd=MGZGbGI4NjlDSzJiYlY2dmxhcTdXUT09
Parish visits Having the opportunity to connect with you during parish visits is always such a pleasure and on April 3, I had the opportunity to drop in to visit St. James in Kingston. As always, I am thrilled to learn more about each parish’s unique way of following the gospel of Jesus Christ’s word through their mission work in the community. Hat’s off to St. James for your work in Easter plant delivery, youth groups raising an impressive $1,510 through a bottle drive to support the Sleeping Cabin project, and they have once again started in-person service for The Gathering dinner and discussion series. (Kitchen volunteers needed by the way.) Their guest on Apr. 3 was Maria Shepherd, a speaker from Innocence Canada who gave a talk on “Wrongfully Convicted. My Story”. Many thanks to all especially Vocational Deacon, Canon Sharon Dunlop for bringing forward these difficult issues of injustice to our minds and hearts. I was also more than pleased to find a new PWRDF Parish Representative in Meghrig Milkon! We are so excited to welcome you to our team!!
Sing For Ukraine: The Diocese of Ontario’s technology wizard, the incredible Mark Hauser and I are working together on a PWRDF fundraising opportunity that we think will bring some inspiration, light and love to congregations across the diocese over the next few weeks. It will also be a tremendous opportunity for you to show off your congregations’ talents and heart, as we support the critical relief efforts for refugees in Ukraine. Your congregation, choir, or parish musical group is invited to video record themselves performing their favorite hymn and send it in to the Diocese of Ontario by May 9. All videos will be included in a compilation video to be posted online on the PWRDF Diocese of Ontario Facebook page by May 16. Stay tuned for more details.
Singers, musicians, parishioners, family and friends in our diocese and beyond are encouraged to donate $5 to PWRDF [link] to support their partners on the ground in Ukraine: ACT Alliance, HelpAge International or Hungarian Interchurch Aid. Help PWRDF support Ukrainians who are in such dire need at the moment. Through their humanitarian efforts you can help those most impacted by this conflict.

Call for Nominations, PWRDF Board of Directors The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund seeks your help in nominating members for its Board of Directors. Individuals with a background in financial management, fundraising, human resources, and global development and disaster relief are encouraged to apply. PWRDF is committed to building a culturally diverse Board, and as such they strongly encourage applications from people who are visible minorities, Indigenous peoples, LGBTQ individuals and people with disabilities. Finally, nominees who live outside of southern Ontario are encouraged to apply. If you know anyone who is passionate about the work of PWRDF and fits the above criteria, please submit a nomination on their behalf. Serving on the Board is a demanding volunteer commitment in terms of time. However, it also offers a wonderful opportunity to work with Anglicans across Canada to put our Gospel values in action to benefit “the least of these” in our world.
Please find attached the official call for nominations letter and nomination form. Kindly email completed nomination forms to Anya Palmer at apalmer@pwrmailto:apalmer@pwrdf.orgdf.org by May 27, 2022, at 5pm EDT. Only individuals to be interviewed will be contacted.
