Bishop Michael has appointed Rev. Jon Lavelle as incumbent of the Parish of All Saints, South Grenville effective October 1, 2023. Ordained priest in 2015, Jon currently serves as priest in charge of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Adams within the Diocese of Central New York. Prior to this, Jon served as rector of St. John’s-Grace Episcopal Church, Buffalo in the Diocese of Western New York and as chaplain to two parishes located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Jon received his BA Cum Laude in English literature from Canisius College in Buffalo, a Master of Education from the State University of New York in Buffalo and a Master of Theology with Distinction from St. Michael’s College, Cardiff, Wales, UK. Prior to ordination, Jon served as an English language Lecturer within the UAE, putting into active use his training in education which focussed on teaching English to speakers of other languages.
Jon is a citizen of the United States and is married to Karen, a native of the Prescott area, where they own a home to which they will permanently relocate when Jon takes up the incumbency of All Saints. For many years, they have vacationed in Prescott where Jon also held my permit to officiate at services in area congregations. It will be a great joy to welcome them here on a permanent basis in October.
The bishop extends his heartfelt thanks to the leadership of All Saints Parish along with Canon Claude DeLorme and Canon Dr. Barbara Robinson who have served the parish in the interim with great care and love for the ongoing ministry of the parish.
