The diocesan Foundation directors are pleased to report that through support by parishioners and community friends, our sharing programme, Fearless Generosity, we were able to make in the closing months of 2020 additional grants to Lunch by George for the provision of take-out food during the continuing pandemic during cold, winter months; matching grants with Community Foundation of Kingston & Area to Beyond Classrooms Kingston, an outreach programme for rural schools; Kingston Sexual Assault Community, providing training and support to front-line crisis workers; and an investment in grant opportunities in partnership for continuing crisis programmes in 2021.
An accessibility grant was also made in December to St. Mark’s, Barriefield, complementing support from the Anglican Foundation of Canada and parishioners. The next directors’ meeting is scheduled for Jan. 21, with the next round of grant applications being accepted up until March 15 from parishes and community groups committed to emerging ministries/service, community partnerships, children and youth ministries, campus ministries, ministries to prisoners and ex-offenders, and reconciliation initiatives.
