Our Foundation directors have opted for having an in-person Annual General Meeting this year when COVID-19 guidelines permit, with Zoom capabilities for those supporters who may wish to participate at home. This will hopefully be possible early in the Spring, perhaps just after Easter.
Tina Bailey, executive director of our partner, Community Foundation of Kingston & Area, is scheduled to be our guest speaker, along with greetings from our Patron, Bishop Michael Oulton. This decision will enhance the building of community and relationships, following – hopefully -- the long period of pandemic challenges, and will enable parishes, congregations and individuals to join our increasing number of voting members / supporters.
For the sake of clarity and administration, annual memberships now will follow the calendar year, which is a gentle way of reminding one and all to renew their support for 2022. Parishes are asked to contribute $ 100/year, and pro-rated if the parish includes one or more points. Individual supporters/members are asked to contribute $ 50/year or more as circumstances permit. Gifts may be made through Canada Helps on a monthly or one-time basis or by cheque c/o the Anglican Diocese of Ontario Foundation, PO Box 26007 Gardiners, Kingston, ON K7M 8W4. Supporting parishes each have one vote as do each individual contributor for the election of directors and other corporate resolutions. Perhaps as we approach annual vestry meetings, this helpful way of offering support should be included as part of the meeting’s agenda, maybe, too, with a good, short video prepared for Synod in October?
The next quarterly grant application date is March 15. Please send applications to The Ven. Bill Clarke, president, to our post office box or registered office, 130 Lakeview Avenue, Kingston, ON K7M 3T5.
