Alex Pierson

Alex assists the Bishop by providing overall management of the diocesan office. He coordinates clergy appointments, provides human resources management, property and legal matters and assists parishes in understanding and implementing the diocesan canons and constitution. As Diocesan Financial Officer, Alex serves as Treasurer to the Synod and is responsible for managing the financial affairs of the Synod. He also works directly with congregations on any and all matters related to financial management and annual financial reporting.


Wayne Varley

Wayne is responsible for assessing needs, planning and implementing programs, as well as running diocesan activities which will enhance ministry and program across the diocese. Working with Bishop Michael Oulton, various committees and resources of the diocese, the Archdeacon focuses on pastoral care and support of clergy, administrative, executive, pastoral and sacramental responsibilities, and implementing the ministry, mission and stewardship directions laid out in the diocesan vision and strategy.


Mark Hauser

Mark works closely with staff at the diocesan centre, as well as other stakeholders across the diocese, to ensure the effectiveness of all communications platforms. Mark is the webmaster for the diocesan website (www.ontario.anglican.ca), maintains the diocesan email list, circulates the eNews Weekly and Facebook updates and serves as Managing Editor of Dialogue—the diocesan newspaper printed on a quarterly basis.

Wendy can book an appointment for you to meet with the Bishop, send an application electronically to you so you may apply for a bursary for ministry courses and coordinates all administration with the Bishop’s office. Wendy is also staff and secretarial support to the Training and Development Committee and looks after set-up and distribution of minutes and materials for Synod Council.


Joyce Williams

Joyce works closely with the Diocesan Financial Officer to provide a multitude of financial services to our parishes. She provides the necessary support in maintaining the monthly centralized payroll system, coordinating the many financial relationships between parishes and the diocese, and satisfying the requirements of the many vendors involved in the successful delivery of our diocesan programs.

Candace supports the finance department in a range of areas including financial reporting, income and expense statements, cash modelling, support of the consolidated investment fund and parish support for green sheets and consulting on financial matters.

 


Michael Betts

Michael supports the finance department in management and successful completion of parish green sheets and charity tax returns. He also provides a range of administrative support including documentation of parish vestry reports, internal record keeping and various clerical duties.

Refugee Settlement Coordinator

As the Refugee Settlement Coordinator, Mimi works with the Diocese of Ontario Refugee Support (DOORS) committee focusing on sponsorship of refugees. Mimi will help your congregation setup a sponsorship committee, review paperwork and communicate with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and provide logistical support to refugee sponsorship groups throughout the application and sponsorship process.
