Diocesan book of condolence for Quebec City Mosque attack

On January 30 Bishop Michael Oulton wrote to our diocese asking for prayers for the victims of the deadly attack on a Quebec City Mosque on January 29. A book of condolence was made available at St. George’s Cathedral while other parishes were invited to download a condolence page for their parishioners to sign. Over 430 signatures were collected along with prayers for the victims and their families. This book has been sent to Mohamed Labidi, Vice President of the Centre Culturel Islamique de Quebec. As a partner of the Community of the Cross of Nails, our cathedral offers the Litany of Reconciliation each Friday at noon. On Friday February 3, a special Litany was held with a particular focus on addressing the tragedy, providing opportunity for all to focus their prayers on the ministry of reconciliation which lies at the heart of the faith we proclaim.
