Bishop’s message of September 8, 2019

Dear Friends,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of The Reverend Jeff O’Hare as the Incumbent of Christ Church, Belleville, effective September 9, 2019.

Australian by birth, Jeff has served in both rural and city parishes, and as Senior Chaplain to Geelong Grammar School and Timbertop, and as executive team member with the Brotherhood of St. Laurence in Melbourne, with oversight of Chaplaincy and diocesan partnerships, focusing on indigenous reconciliation and the journey and settlement of Southern Sudanese refugees. Since November of 2018 he has served Christ Church as interim priest in charge.

I would also announce that the Reverend Haynes Hubbard, Incumbent of St. Mark’s in Barriefield has submitted to me his resignation effective December 30, 2019. Haynes has accepted a position to serve in the Diocese of Egypt as incumbent of the parish of St John’s Maadi, Cairo.

We have been blessed and are thankful for the faithful service that Haynes has provided to St. Mark’s and the Diocese of Ontario since he came to our diocese in 2012. Haynes has served and taken leadership roles on a number of diocesan committees and groups, including Synod Council and has most recently served as Regional Dean for Frontenac.

Please hold Haynes, Susan and their family in your prayers as they prepare for this next step of his ministry and journey in faith.

Please be assured of our continuing prayers for God’s strength and grace at this time.

Yours in Christ’s Service,

Bishop Michael
