Dear Lay Readers and friends,

I would like personally to invite you to Summer Fruit for Souls 2020, a wonderful conference taking place at the Providence Spirituality Centre, Kingston, from July 21-24. Many of you have enjoyed and benefitted from this conference in past years and we invite you to consider attending again. Please spread the word in your parishes and to your friends that the event is open to all lay persons, not exclusively to Lay Readers. It would be wonderful if you could post the attached conference poster and/or forward this email to anyone you think would enjoy participating.

Summer conferences have been sponsored by the Lay Readers’ Association of the Anglican Diocese of Ontario since 2001. They have drawn a mix of Lay Readers and other interested lay people who find the stimulation and encouragement of study, discussion, fellowship, worship and prayer a help in their Christian growth and understanding.

The Providence Spirituality Centre is operated by the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul. It is a place of spiritual retreat, away from the noise and bustle of everyday life, a place of peace and quiet with areas for private prayer and extensive grounds to explore and enjoy.

This year, again, we have a roster of top-notch speakers and workshop facilitators while our two Wardens of Lay Readers, Rev. Nancy Beale and Rev. Lynn Dillabough, will be providing spiritual guidance and support.

Use the downloads below to find out more about Summer Fruit for Souls 2020, register and even apply for a bursary if needed.

I look forward to sharing the blessings of Summer Fruit with you this summer.

Yours faithfully,
Mary Raddon
